Very dissatisfied in level of service and plain and simple ******* from Avis
Good morning all.
Before lockdown, I had an unfortunate incident where the insurance wrote my car off because of a pothole (what's new) I had 30days of car rental on my policy. I took the rental car for 30 days. Unfortunately lockdown kicked in and I could not return the car, I paid a R2000 cash deposit to get the car, 30 days passed and I needed to return the car. I contacted my insurance company and informed them where they advised me not to because of lockdown. I informed them that i cant afford a new rental contract. "Not to worry we will take care of that" now that the car is returned I am not getting my refund due to me In the amount of +-R1300 instead I am getting a second invoice from Avis tries explaining my situation to them and it only falls on deaf ears or people telling me the same thing "sorry no refund due" now I explained to them that I have not signed nor requested a second contract with them and that that should be between them and the insurance. I gave the car back in a better condition as what I found it from them. Full tank petrol, valet the whole 9 yards. The person who fetch the car from me said not to worry I'll get my deposit back as only toll gates and the 30day windshield and tyres waver will be deducted.
To my surprise I am not getting it back nor do they want to supply me with the relevant signed documentation so I can take legal action against them. Now for R1300 that sound silly but I this hard times every penny counts.
Is there anyone who has had a similar experience? What else do I as a consumer have to do to get my deposit back.....
