Unresolved Deposit and Unproven Damage Claim—Five Weeks and Counting

Avis mismanaged my rental deposit, first acknowledging their mistake, then passing the case to the rental location—only for it to be ignored again. Their inspection process also lacked transparency, with discrepancies between initial and final assessments causing further frustration. Attempts to resolve these issues were met with delays and unhelpful responses. A rental company should prioritize fairness and accountability, but Avis failed to do so. Clearer deposit handling, better customer service, and more reliable issue resolution are needed to prevent similar frustrations for others. "This issue is now dragging into its fifth week since the car was returned, with no resolution in sight."

Dear Avis Customer Service, I am writing to formally address ongoing concerns regarding the incorrect charges and billing errors associated with my rental agreement [Rental Agreement Number] with Avis. Despite multiple attempts to resolve these discrepancies, I have yet to receive adequate clarification or reimbur*****t for the charges in question. Specifically, I wish to dispute the following issues:
  1. Billing Errors: The unexplained charges app**** to my account require an itemized explanation, as previous statements have not substantiated why I owe this amount. Furthermore, I request reimbur*****t for the bank charges incurred due to Avis' mismanagement.
  2. Damage Claim: I contest the full bumper replacement charge, as the alleged damage was pre-existing and documented in Avis' system prior to the rental period. I request that Avis provide concrete evidence proving the necessity of a complete replacement, rather than a repair.
  3. Customer Service Handling: The lack of transparency in addressing my concerns and the failure to provide a clear resolution are unacceptable. As a long-standing customer, I expect a fair and thorough review of these matters.
I kindly request a formal response outlining the steps Avis will take to resolve these disputes, including the timeline for reimbur*****t and further clarification regarding the damage claim. If necessary, I am prepared to escalate this matter further to ensure a fair resolution. Please acknowledge receipt of this email and provide a response within [reasonable timeframe, e.g., 7 business days]. I look forward to your prompt attention to these concerns.
