Unknown Damages

Hi all

I hired a car from Avis on the 21/06/2019, returned it on the 24/06/2019 at Phalaborwa Airport without any damages. I followed-up on my contract (Avis Call Centre) regarding my deposit but only to find out that the contract is NOT closed yet but they don’t know why because the car have been returned.

On Monday the 8/07/2019 I received a message from Avis with a warning stating that “an amount of R1469.87 to be settled within 7 days to avoid court order” I immediately called Avis regards this and I was told that Phalaborwa Airport reported a damage on the car after I followed-up with my deposit. I informed the consultant that the car had no damages and the contract wasn’t closed after I returned the car which anyone could have drove the car, I asked for proof “before & after pictures” but non was sent to me.

They keep on referring me to the Repair Department and no one seem to know anything regarding the damage on the car.

Please assist ***
