Unfair practice By Avis Car Rental Company
I was involved in a car accident and as such my insurance booked me a rental car via Avis. I received the car in good order which was brand new Polo Vivo and paid R1500 deposit. I took the car back on the 27 May 2021 with full tank then the following day at about 15:33 i receive a message claiming that windscreen has a big chip and need to be replaced so to my surprise i call them in trying to understand this because when i took the car back it was fine then that Martin guy tells me that they have been trying to call me which is a lie so they have replaced the windscreen so i will be liable for damage costs.
I was furious because i dont think it was fair that they replace the windscreen before checking with me if i know about this problem then he claims that they took a foto and when he send me the foto it was the first time i saw that chip. I told him that i dont know about that chip so they must give me my deposit. Few days after they further bill R 1 960 in my credit card without my consent and i felt that this is ***** as i they cannot do as they wish on my account the least that they could have done was to refer this to their lawyers so that we can go to court as i am totally disagreeing with this damages.
So i need to get my money back as i feel that this is a **************** what AVIS is doing to me because my right is being violated. You cannot do as you wish in another persons bank account because no agreement was reached about this damages and i am clear when i say the car was fine when i take it back. Your intervention will be highly appreciated.
