********* practice

Never will i ever again use Avis nor recommend them to anyone due to the ********* way they treat customers; mostly when there is a problem.

Upon returning the car to Avis Durban, it was discovered that the hub caps were missing (******) and small scratch on the wheel bumper (driver’s side). I did not have a problem as I could afford to pay the R3500 but the lady refused and said I must wait to be billed. a. The first SMS I received on the 13th of October 2020 stated that I was billed R6244.944. I immediately started engaging with Avis to inquire about this.

b. On Monday the 19th of October 2020, I received two billing SMSs one for R7181.68 and a R2140 was sent to my alternative number (my wife’s).

Subsequently I asked that they provide me with the break down billing invoice and an explanation to why am I being charged for what should be covered by their insurer. Surprisingly while the query still in process, Mr/Ms/Mrs Manase Sebata send me a document with threat of handing my “case” over to debt collector within 20 days etc.

Let it be on record that I did not refused to pay, but I seek to stick to what was explained to me and agreed upon which is that I am liable for the excess amount of R3500 which I can pay immediately.

I am very disappointed that Discovery Insure works with them. I might as well change the insurance company

I have been attempting to get fairness from Avis Car Rental for over two months now through email and Facebook. Even though the query still opened, I still receive messages for them ordering me to pay the full cost of repair and that they have handed my case over to collectors etc

Meanwhile, they have not even attempt to provide me with explanation to why am i being charged full cost while the agreement was that i should be liable to only excess fee. My query to them is being completely ignored. As i said earlier, I am ready to pay the excess fee as agreed.

Where can i find justice?
