Unacceptable R10000 "holding fee" required for 4 day rental!
As always, I book my car rentals at Avis. I always take a Group A car with superwaiver. My authorisation amount has never been above R2800. To my absolute shock, I now have discovered my authorisation amount is R10 000!!!! Not on Avis - how should an average pay THIS type op holding fee! I will be cancelling my booking and book at another Car Rental if this situation is NOT resolved. This is why one takes out insurance should any damages or accidents occur!!! This is only for a 4day rental! Great way to loose more clients during this ongoing economic crisis!

Effectively from the 1st of April, we require an additional authorisation hold. This amount is simply reserved until the car is returned. It is required for the security purposes.
