The great Avis Rent-A-Car 15% VAT Rip-off

I hired a car from AVIS, from early March 2018 to early April 2018. Upon receiving my tax invoice, they charged me the higher rate of VAT (15%) for the entire rental period. The VAT rate should have been pro rated. i.e. the first few weeks at 14%, and the few days in April at 15%. The VAT rate went up only on 1 April 2018.

So far no response to my e-mail to Avis's invoicing dept.

AVIS: first of all, charging VAT at 15% during a time period when it is only 14% is ********, and secondly, AVIS should try a little harder in sorting out the complaints of (regular) customers. I will rent at other firms, until this issue has been rectified.
