*****ing customers money.

I rented a vehicle from Avis on the 28th of October 2016 at Cape Town international Airport. Deposit was paid as well as rental for three days via cheque card. When taking the vehicle, I had nobody to assist me in inspecting the vehicle. When returning the vehicle back on 31 October 2016, the man who was assessing the vehicle said that he found a scratch underneath the front bumper . From my side , I've no idea as to where that scratch came from and so he said that I should indicate it on the paper. Two days later I received a bill for the damage of the bumper. called Avis to query this matter, apparently they escalated it and said it was a waiting a game. I mentioned to them that if they could show me proof that the vehicle did not have a scratch under the bumper before I took it , I would pay for it , until then I'm not paying for anything which I didn't cause. Also, they have no proof because the vehicle was not inspected with me before I took it. Today A debit order or R4403 came off from my account + the R4400 that I paid initially for renting and deposit. In Essence, almost R6000 of mine is sitting with Avis for renting a vehicle for three days . Nobody has got back to me and it's impossible to get thru to the Cape Town branch as they don't ever take their calls. Avis are ******* of note. All they do is ***** your money via debit orders which you have absolutely no control over. 0/10 recommend.
