Rented a car (polo vivo)with Avis through my insurance in January for 45 days. When i collected my car I was told about unlimited kilometres and windscreen and tyre “insurance” of R750 that i paid for on the day. We went to view the car with their guy for scratches and all, when i pounted out small chips he told me “font mind those, they dont count with the ones under”, cool. Since I was not fami**** with the car, on one call (for extension)with a call center agent, I mentioned to him that when I turn on the car some warning lights pop up but switch off immediately when the ignition if fully on, he told me not to worry about it then. Fast forward on return the lady receiving the car tells me about a missed service and a scratch under the bumper, I was confused coz on the first inspection I was told they dont count when I wanted to him to check and I was never told about returning the car for service and when. I was then charged R1666, but later changed to R8697 :being billed R5000 for that missed service I was never told about, R1400 for the scratch under the front bumper, R950 for windscreen and tyres(mind you no tyre was damage, windscreen had no crack or chip). I have been calling Avis for months now, went to the Durban Downtown branch the manager refused to see me and told me to leave my contacts he will investigate and contact me, till today nothing from him. Now Im being told i will be blacklisted, while Im still waiting for them to get back to me with their “ investigation “.
