********** with petrol refill

I rented a car last week (E***).<br> I returned the car (Ford Figo 1.4) after having driven 97kms without filling up the fuel.<br> While driving I noticed that the fuel gauge started going down pretty soon after I got the car (not normal).<br> At the airport, i reported that the gauge was on 3/4 and that was very low for only having done 97kms.<br> <br> When I got the invoice I noticed that 11.25 litres was put into the car (thats 11.5 l/100km consumption)!!!<br> <br> I then reported this to Avis - and got the response from Theonique that the amount on the refuewlling slip is correct - so there is nothing further they can do.<br> <br> I know we are only talking about R30 to R40 difference, but it is the principal. There is no way that I used all that petrol in that short distance - unless there is something MAJOR wrong with that vehicle.<br> <br> I rent cars every month, and after such non-service, I will be taking my business elsewhere.
