possible *****ulent transaction by Avis on my account

Rented a car on 31st July for 14 days, paid everything as per quote, returned the car, received nothing to date but earlier today I get a notification from my bank that R150 was taken by Avis... oh, this was at Bram Fischer airport branch. When I called I was given some sloppy explanation about how that money was taken incase my deposit didn't cover perhaps the petrol when the car was returned or it could be some damage, which is all nonsense because the inspection was clear and the petrol doesn't even cost R1200 for a full tank, my deposit was R3000 by the way! I asked that the branch manager contact me IMMEDIATELY and was told that he/she was on lunch, suffice it to say, no communication has been forthcoming as at 20h55 tonight, 17th August... Now, I didn't approve any extra payments from my account nor have I received the invoice which usually follows after you return a vehicle to show the expected refund amount from my deposit and the fuel costs etc, which leads to my question, is this *****?

Good day, Khotso.

Please be advised that your rental is still under the billing cycle. The R150 amount in question was a temporary hold placed on your card. Kindly note that the amount will be automatically reversed by your bank once the invoice amount has been processed.

Kind regards

Good afternoon,

Who did you inform of this hold on my card? Why is there a hold, you have my email address, why not inform me because my transaction with you is complete from my side, I returned your vehicle and the deposit paid is for you to recover your fuel cost and any other costs, you made a transaction on my account without my approval, that's the bottom line.
Stop trying to speak "legalese"... Send me an invoice and show me exactly what the R150 is for and show me where I agreed to it, otherwise I'm opening a case!
I still haven't heard from the branch manager and you yourselves don't even have the decency to call me directly to explain in detail, instead you send me this anemic response? What kin did disrespect is this?
What if I went to a petrol station and poured petrol thinking that I had a certain balance in my account only to be humiliated by a declined card because YOU DECIDED by yourselves to take money from my account?

I reject your vague explanation with all the contempt it deserves, you can't evwn tell. me when to expect MY, money? 🤬
