POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND NEGLIGENCE
I have been using Avis for some time now with no complaints but recently I have not been happy with their service. I rented a car last year 6-9 December and again this year 20 January- 3 February and I have not received the holding fee/deposit for both those bookings , I’ve called the customer service countless times and all the consultants I spoke to told me the same thing “we will find out what the hold up is but worry not you should receive your money in 3 to 5 working days” it’s march now and I’m yet to see my money reflect in my account. I’m not happy at all with their poor service and none ending excuse's, All I want is my money that’s it.

04 Mar 2025, 09:39Hi Noluthando,
Thank you for contacting us,
Please be advised that the queried amounts on both your rentals were holding deposits and not debits off your account, the amounts remained in your account but were not available for you to use, once the rental vehicle is returned then communication is sent to your bank to release holding deposit, please be advised that once your bank releases the amounts they will not come back into your account as a credit but fall back to your available balance.
Your bank has confirmed that the amounts were released and at the moment there is nothing on hold in your account, you may contact your authorization department from your bank who will be able to confirm when the amounts were released back to you.
Thank you.

09 Mar 2025, 20:51That is a big fat lie, I’ve contacted my bank and even visited the branch they showed me that nothing was released I have the statements to prove that.
I thoroughly went through the statement just to be 100% sure and nothing and I mean not even a dime was released . I suggest you get your facts straight and be rest assured I am not letting this go

10 Mar 2025, 08:34Thank you for your response,
Kindly note that the amount will not come back into your account as a credit, that is why it will not show on your statement, if your bank is advising that nothing has been released then they would be able to see the amount still being on hold in your account, that is why we advised your speak directly to the authorization department who will confirm that the amount was released back to you and when it was released back to you.
Thank you.
