Non payment of refund

Avis head office is short staffed. I hope I've brought this to someone's attention so that people can actually start working up there. It's been six months. I'm still awaiting on being refunded the money that's due to me. I was told by a lady with the name of Nomvusa at the payments department who's handling the refund that it's company policy and that the refund will take up to a year to process. Cant see why it should take that long because I've made a cash purchase for a vehicle.
