No Refund 4 weeks later

It has been 16 working days since I returned the courtesy car and still my deposit has not been released back into my account. The car was returned on the 18 Nov dropped off at Autobody Panel Beaters and collected the same day by Solly. I spoke to Angele at Avis a week from the 18th and she asked I check the following Friday the 27th but there was no refund yet. I called her again on the 4th Dec to follow up and the response from Thuto Dominic Mathate was that a letter of cancellation had been sent to their merchant bank to check with my bank of the progress of the reversal, and that should my bank confirm that there are amounts pending for Avis Budget then they will have the reversal amount released back into my account's balance within 48 hrs. I made another follow up on the 8th of Dec with Angele and I received a response from Sassa Ndlovu saying that funds were not debited out of your account when I collected the car, & that funds are held temporarily, and in that case they will not be refunding me.She also said funds are release back into an available balance within 3-7 workings if the credit card was utilized, yet my bank confirmed that my account was debited with R1250.
