Never rent a car from Avis!

I had to rent a car from Avis after an accident. After my rental agreement ended and I returned the vehicle to Avis in Vereeniging, I was told the rental deposit I paid on the day I collected the vehicle would be refunded within 7 working days. More than 2 weeks later I am still waiting for the deposit to be refunded. I made multiple calls to Avis Customer Care to resolve the issue. I was told the money has been refunded and I should phone my bank to see when it was refunded and why it does not reflect in my account. According to the bank no money was paid to my account from Avis and Avis says they have no transactions pending and that it had to be refunded back automatically a few days ago, it is not their responsibility.

This is absurd and absolutely pathetic. From the reviews posted online it happened quite a few times before.
