Never hire a car from avis... ****************...

While on leave, I hired a car from avis due to my car having some problems. I therefore decide to hire a car from avis, first time customer. My experience with them was appalling. Hired the car the sat afternoon. Was told all the terms and conditions. We got the keys and had the accesser check the car for any damages. When you hire a car you don't check every mark or scratch. The car had a damage mark on the left bumper at the back, for some reason the accesser did not write it down. I drove the car home. When I got home I saw the mark. Checked the inspection sheet and had thought it was written down. We drove down to saldanha for the weekend. Drove the car so carefully because I knew if there were to be any damages I had to be liable for it. My mom is my witness that nothing happened to the car while we had it. When I dropped the car off the Sunday, I was questioned about this mark at the back which I didn't cause. I was held liable for this charge of R1300. This was very upsetting because firstly I did not cause the damage. Avis didn't make a effort to investigate the damages in previous reports. I was just held liable for something I never damaged. My first experience with avis and my last. I will not recommend this car rental place to anyone. My company of employment uses them all the time. I will tell them about this bad experience. All the manager can do is send u their terms and conditions. Nothing about going the extra mile and check through previous reports on the car. It's very disappointing how avis does business to rob people like this. I'm a single mother and had to give away R1300 just like that for something I'm not liable for. All avis does is gladly take your money. Goodluck to them for robbing their customers.
