mischarge and suspicious vehicle checkout
Good Day
My apologies for not including a valid case identification number. Funeka Mbolekwa ********** has not provided me with my case number. The booking in question is RA ********** 25
I am absolutely horrified with my experience, and expect a partial refund to be issued ASAP and I would like a letter of sincere apology from the branch manager for her conduct, and the conduct of her staff. Quite honestly, I believe that I should be awarded a refund beyond what I am owed, for the terrible experience that I have had, and as an apology for the delay I have experienced in resolving this.
When we collected the vehicle, the branch said that they were not willing to wait for the group A vehicle to arrive from the Cape Town airport, and so we should take the group B vehicle that they had available, and that they would correct the charge when the vehicle was returned. Well, unfortunately my personal car was not available to be collected from the garage on the Monday, and so I consulted the RA and found that it was for 2 to 5 days, with a set daily rate. Therefore I notified the branch that I would be forced to keep the vehicle for a longer period.
When I returned the vehicle, the vehicle was accepted damage free, and with a full tank - so there should be no extra charges. Well, was I shocked to receive an invoice for an amount so high that I honestly considered it a joke until the money was charged to my card. This humour then turned to absolute disgust.
Another major issue that I have is the (in my opinion **********) manner in which the vehicle inspection was carried out. After I signed the rental agreement, the agent wrote "NO DAMAGES" on the top of the form, before tearing her copy off. I was then guided to the vehicle by Xolisa, who filled in the damages ON MY COPY before returning it to me. So, as far as I was aware, the damage was recorded, when in fact the official paperwork stated that the vehicle did no have 3 damaged wheels, and neither did it have a paint fix job that looked like it was performed with a tub of "tippex".
Now, the reason that the branch gave for my card being ****** is that I had violated the contract by returning the vehicle late. I had not, as the vehicle was returned within the stipulated 5 days, the only violation was the amount charged by AVIS.
Please help me, I am desperate.
Regards
Leith Hobson
