Micky mouse business, out of sync and thumb sucking

Rental Agreement or Reservation Number: RA ********** 06

Surname on booking: Mbele

Well on Tuesday the company withdrew R3,524.93 from my account:

· R1571.68 for the rental

· R1421.32 for “damages”

· R482.62 for “Refuel”

· R373.62 Vat

So here’s my problem, the rental amount is fine(understandable), problem starts with everything below it.

From the 28th of April when I picked up this car I had problems (excessive scratches, dirty windows and an dusty dashboard), we took the car regardless because we were in a hurry. We returned the car to OR Tambo, Tank full, spotless and with no damages ( I know because I left without signing a liability/damages form).

You guys then call 2 days later informing me of a resprayed rear bumper, I then explain I cannot be liable for damage done to the vehicle inspected in my absence. I was then told of a pending investigation and how I’d have to wait nonetheless.

So I reckon your investigation was complete on/or before the 6th of this month (24 days of investigating), then you deposit anyway on my account (bringing it into arrears).

So I make my way to OR Tambo to enquire, I get assistance from one of your damages employees, poor guy took ten minutes trying to conjure an explanation for me, he comes eventually. He explains to me to the best of his ability about the blunder at hand before handing it over to Ruan Van Der Heever who further elaborates.

So apparently after 24 days of investigation of which during I am calling the office to no avail whatsoever, I am told that there has been a mistake in charging me for the damages, as they occurred before my rental and were not termed and that I should wait 3-5 working days for a refund into my account.

But wait…there’s more! I understand the wait again, reluctantly. Now I am accustomed to a R150 honorary fee from standard bank for allowing the transaction to go through, and a penalty for running my account in to the negatives (of which I take it you would know the amount as I’m sure you have plenty of experience with these blunders).

My theory is someone took the car after my returning it, ran the tank out, and damaged the car further than what it was already, but that’s beside the point…

What angers me the most with my experience with AVIS is that not a single call, apart from the missed call I got regarding the damages claim, was made to me during the whole ordeal. Money was taken out as pleased, investigations were underway without my involvement, money was finally debited in my account without a single word from you. NOT A SINGLE CALL FROM YOU THROUGHOUT!!!

the final blow is the wrongful debit for damages that weren’t mine in the 1st place, after pleading numerous times with the company, and after 24 working days of “investigation” on your side.

My ordeal with the company is painfully staking, I have never seen such negligence and disregard for customers as such. Close to 2 months with me not being able to do anything on my account because you stick your hand in and out as you please without warning nor communication because you are Gods, you prey on the weak and needy knowing they can’t afford the time/money to chase Gods! You respect the corporates and account holders as if they couldn’t afford their blunders!

And I hope I get compensated accordingly for my grievances regarding costs I’ve incurred

hope it pleases the company sabotaging clients to keep afloat! i/we might mean nothing to you now, nor maybe my struggle or family's wellbeing, but today and tomorrow are 2 very different dimensions!

the elephant that trumps on ants 1 day gets eaten by the very ants!

social media is a platform everyone can afford!
