Please be careful when you make use of Avis Car Rental, especially ladies! My insurance arranged a Rental for me, and I received a vehicle that was in horrific condition. To make a long story short, when the vehicle was returned, a small dent 'appeared' on the back rear door (The vehicle was literally parked at my house, and I didn't want to use it because of the state of the vehicle). Then I got billed R2 086.03 for the dent, which raised red flags immediately, as it is impossible for a dent that size, to cost that much. I requested the quote from their supplier, but only after a few emails, was it sent to me. Avis answered me on my complaint and said they will investigate. They soon rep**** back on my complaint to say there was a 'second' dent and they will refund me R690.00. To be honest, the moment I queried the amount deducted from my account for one small dent, a second dent miraculously 'appeared'. Now my question, something is not adding up, literally!!!! Amount deducted was R2 086.03. The quote was R1 200,00 but I only got refunded R690.00. Something is seriously wrong with their calculations???? Please note, a vehicle with no dent, but full of scratches and marks, all of a sudden had a dent and then, a second dent 'appeared' after I submitted a complaint. I was only showed one dent, so where is the other dent now all of a sudden coming from?? And how do they come to a refund amount of R690.00?? According to my legal Advisor, this is not only ******ion, but ***** at its best. I am convinced that they are trying to get me to pay for the damages that was already on the vehicle. I have requested numerous times for my money to be refunded, but I am getting ignored. 1. They tried to convince me that I caused the dent, which I refused to accept. 2. An exorbitant amount of R2 086.03 was deducted from my account for one dent. 3. A second dent all of a sudden 'appeared'. 4. The quote shows the cost of a dent is R600.00. 5. Only R690.00 gets refunded to me???? 6. Surely everybody should agree that something fishy is definitely going on here! So PLEASE, PLEASE, BE WARNED, be very careful when you want to make use of Avis.
