i hired a car from avis midrand grand airport branch on Saturday 11 March 2017. I drove to Kimberly on that day and dropped the vehicle at Kimberley airport that same afternoon.

Sunday 12 March 2017 someone from Kimberley airport called my brother in law who was listed as the alternate driver to ask about a debt on the bumber of the vehicle. He told them to contact me as I was listed as the main driver. No one called me. On Tuesday 14 March 2017 a payment of R2190.40 was deducted from my account. I called Kimberley branch and I was told that it was a deduction for a damaged bumber. I told them that the damage was already there when I picked up the car and they should have communicated with their midrand branch to get hold of the inspection sheets. I phoned about 5 times and I was told all those times that the manager would get back to me and they were fixing the issue.

Since then hen I have phone both branches about 3 times each every day and still no one has told me what is happening. I emailed the manager at the Kimberley branch and he didn't bother to answer my query or call me back as he hasn't been in the branch all week.

is Avis allowed to just take monies out of people's accounts just because they have the card details even without cause? Is our information safe when we hire a car and give out our banking and card details at Avis? Does Avis have the right to just take monies without so much as an invoice or just getting their own facts straight with each other?

i want my money back!
