I, Antonio Jacobus, referred an ongoing dispute with Avis over alleged vehicle damage to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombudsman (CGSO)

I, Antonio Jacobus, referred an ongoing dispute with Avis over alleged vehicle damage to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombudsman (CGSO). Avis ignored the CGSO, so the matter is being escalated to the National Consumer Commission for a Compliance Notice under the Consumer Protection Act. Despite this, their consultants continue to send threatening messages. I maintained that no incident occurred; Avis staff handled the pre-inspection photos on my phone, and the vehicle was left unattended upon return as the branch was closed. Avis refuses to provide footage, insisting I visit the East London branch despite me living in Cape Town. By disregarding the CGSO and withholding my deposit, Avis is showing total disrespect for consumer rights.
