Horrible customer Service

thought id share the experience and standard autoamted reply.

Hi Alton,

Thank you for the time and effort in sending a standard reply apologising for the inconvenience.

I trust you are fully aware of the issue and do not require any information pertaining to the reason behind my dissatisfaction.

For my record and to ensure you are fully aware of my dissatisfaction, the following was my experience

I rented a vehicle for the period Tuesday 13th Dec to Sunday 18th Dec 2016

On arrival at King Shaka, I upgraded my insurance since I could not do this online and to my amazement it was almost the price of the vehicle rental (good strategy on AVIS part, well done!)

I requested a complimentary upgrade if available and your agent was a superstar. She assisted me by providing an upgrade to an automatic sedan from my Toyota corolla which was booked.

I received vehicle which was covered with ants walking all over the body work and some inside the vehicle. The agent advised that this is due to the location of the airport I left your offices and climbed on to the highway heading towards Umhlanga when I noticed that the alignment on the vehicle pulls completely to the left once the vehicle reaches 80kms.

I pulled off and contacted your AVIS support desk that referred me to the Umhlanga Cabana beach AVIS office where they would fulfil a replacement vehicle. I requested that they call ahead an confirm that all will be in order when I arrive given that my family and I just got off an extremely early start to the day and would not want to drive around unnecessarily.

I arrived at the Umhlanga office only to be advised that they were not contacted or advised of my incident.

Secondly, they could not accommodate me with any vehicle. The only solution would be to wait until 2pm for any potential returns. Considering it was 8:30 in the morning, I was not prepared to loose half my day waiting for a vehicle which may or may not come.

The kind assistant in Umhalanga contacted the airport and asked them to assist.

I was then rerouted to the airport with the vehicle which corners itself.

At no point thus far am I offered any real assistance and nobody is even interested in confirming whether there is an actual problem or any potential risk to me.

I arrived at the airport to a very unhappy consultant who simply took back the keys and gave me the keys for the original vehicle. No questions asked. Simply here’s the key for the vehicle and that’s what we have. Cheers.

I assume that this vehicle probably went straight back into the pool and waited for the next lucky contestant since nobody bothered to check or confirm the issues.

Love the service. Based on you automated or copy and paste response below, I assume that issues like this go unattended and unknown to the general public.

Regards,

From:
Sent: 19 December 2016 03:09 PM
To:
Subject: Your recent Avis experience

-->

Dear,

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your Customer Service experience.
