Hijacked of my access...

Very confused... About a month ago my car went in for repairs then my insurance company gave me a rental car from avis. When I recieved the car they explained to me that there will be an access of R3500 and if I pay an extra amount for the duration of the time that I have the car then the access will only be R500 wich I did. They also said if anything happen to the car the access will be R500. So unlucky for me they attempted to hijack me smashed my front window I got stabbed 18 times but I managed to get away and was hospitalized for a few days.. I contacted them but coulnt get through. I eventually got hold of them and they fetched the car after I opened an attempted hijacking, assault ghb and attempted ****** docket. I never heard from them again... I went to avis when i got discharged and they printed me something stating that it was an hijacking and they said I should wait... so then 2 weeks later i received an sms saying that i owe budget an amount and i owe avis an amount... so i tried calling them to find out what it is for... after a few attempts of calling them they told me that I am still liable for the damages to the vehicle so I ask them how can I be liable shouldnt I just pay the R500 access... then I asked an invoice they eventually sent me an invoice a few days later after constantly contacting them. They then told me that they dont cover damages... how can you not cover damages if I need to pay a R500 access if something should happen? Then I asked them so I was suppose to loose my life or just give them the car would I then have to pay for the whole car? What's the point of paying an access for their insurance if it does not cover damages? Isnt that what insurance is for? So the car didnt even have smash and grabb but I'm suppose to pay for damages instead of an access which they told me... I was very disappointed in Avis did not expect that level of service at all.
