********** fuel charges
On the 11 Feb I rented a Huyndai i20 from the Avis Cape Town airport branch which I returned on the 12 Feb. Much to my surprise when I received the invoice it included a refueling charge (R21.74) and fuel 39.71 litres (R611.06),notwithstanding having refueled the vehicle myself at the AIRPORP BP at 15:51 on the 12 Feb, and having showed the receiving Avis official my petrol slip (which I still have). In addition the petrol gauge showed the tank as full. Important to note that the vehicle was booked in on the Avis system at 16:03 (12 minutes later) on the 12 Feb and that total km's travelled was 99km. If the vehicle was indeed not filled up by myself it would have consumed 1L of petrol for every 2.49 km ie 39.7 L/100km which is obviously not possible for a 1.2L, 4 cylinder engine. On the 15 Feb, I submitted a complaint to the Avis Customer Care platform, inter alia demanding a refund of those ********** charges within 5 business days. On the 19 Feb they reponded indicating that the matter has been referred to the branch for further investigation, requesting a period of 3 business days for that which ran out on the 24 Feb. I requested feedback on the customer care platform but have not had a reply. This is poor service on top of **********ly having charged me for fuel.
