I recently hired a vehicle from Avis at Cpt Airport and took delivery after 22:00 at night. The agent was friendly and we did a 10 second walk around the vehicle in the dark to point out that there was no obvious damage before I took possession. He also stated that if I found any damage that I should report it to Avis when returning the vehicle. The next morning we noticed a TINY chip on the back rear bumper when loading luggage into the boot. After our trip we returned the vehicle and I pointed out the tiny chip on the back rear of the bumper to which the inspecting agent said not to worry and that I should just sign the relevant forms which he gave me. To my absolute disgust Avis have now billed me for reporting the chip, which I can 100% guarantee was not incurred whilst the vehicle was in my possession. Furthermore I've tried to contact Avis to tell them the story and follow up on the paperwork but they are utterly uninterested in following the facts stating that I signed certain 15 page documents in the dark and now I'm liable to pay R1 222.10 excluding VAT for a TINY bumper chip plus R260 admin fees! Never in my life have I dealt with such a blatantly ********** company!
