falsely accused by manager with bad smug attitude

<p>I recently had the displeasure of dealing with the manager of Avis car rental in Payne street pinetown. I had a rental vehicle for a week while my vehicle was in for repairs. On completion of my vehicle, one of the avis representatives from the pinetown branch collected the vehicle from me at the panel beaters. He did a thorough inspection checking inside and outside the vehicle, even running his hand along the outside of the vehicle. After inspection he said all was in order and nothing needed to be signed. later that day i got a call from the pinetown manager advising me that they had come across a crack, i explained to him that i did not do any damage to the vehicle and that his respresentative could confirm that as he checked the vehicle, he then responded that he did not drive the vehicle, implying that i drove it therefore it mustve been me. he told me that he would bring the vehicle to me and that i could fill in the report that i had done no damage. i never heard from him again and no vehicle was brought and no documents were signed or completed by me. Today i recieve an sms stating that i owe an amount of R2100.82 exl vat. So i called to find out what this was all about and was advised that it was for damage of the bumper and a light. well i completely lost my temper and contacted the branch and spoke to a supervisor who advised me he would investigate. i later called back to get names and the manager answered, i nformed him that i would be seeking legal advise and i was told "ok" in his very smug way of dealing with customers. i am very very unhappy with this situation i am now being accused of something i did not do and being told to pay.</p>
