Don't use Avis

Avis Car Hire is one to definitely avoid like the plague! I tried to make an online booking for a car at King Shaka Airport. The system did not complete the booking but they still took payment. I rebooked by phone. The car had a faulty fuel gauge (which their service manager admitted to me) - I filled it up on return and they still charged me for filling it up again. I complained and complained and complained but they don't answer their phones and their promise to answer emails within 24 hours is laughable - I've written 7 times without a response and I still haven't got my money back. Eventually, I got hold of a customer service representative who promised to deal with my complaint. That was two weeks ago and I've not heard from him since. Go somewhere else folks!
