DON'T BOOK AVIS THROUGH MANGO

<p>I recently booked an Avis car through the Mango web-site. I was directed to the Avis web-site where I booked a 4 dayrental from Cape Town returning to CT. When I received my invoice I found it was considerably more than the original quote. After deducting the cost to refill the car I was still being overcharged by &nbsp;R1500+/-</p> <p>I then made a dumbie booking directly on the Avis site and found that for the same car I would get&nbsp;200kms per day as against 100kms pd on the link from Mango. Also if I had paid up-front the rate would have been cheaper, this option was not offered. Normally when one books on a link from an airline the rate is cheaper as the airline would have negotiated a better rate for its clients. My advice therefore is not to book Avis through an airline link or better still do not book with Avis in the first place. As an added rip-off Avis will charge a full extra days rental even if, as in my case, the car is returned just 25 minutes late. Previously they would give about 45 minutes grace and then charge the extra time on an hourly rate.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
