Disappointed

Had an accident and my insurance rented a curtousy car through avis. I was told to pay an upfront deposit amd will get back my deposit within 7 days after returning the car. To cut the story short I brought back the car on the 5th December . I called today since they were not communicating with me with regarding my deposit. I got a shock to hear that the process of releasing my deposit has not been done. I'm not happy at all I want back my money.

Hi Zukiswa,

Thank you for contacting us,

Please be advised that the holding deposit that was held when you collected the vehicle was not a debit but an amount frozen in your account, it was still in your account but not available for you to use, when you returned the vehicle, your bank received an automated request to release any amount that may still be on hold in your account, when you called on Friday, our agent sent a communication to the bank to confirm if the amount was released or still on hold, should your bank confirm that the amount is still on hold, we then send a manual request to have the amount released, kindly note that when you bank releases the holding deposit will not come into your account as a credit but fall back to your available balance.

Thank you.
