Devious company
Quick to take your money, slow to return it. Looking at all the other reviews, Avis definately not to go with. I made an online booking through my preffered client Avis app post the expiry date of my driver's license card (not my license, that's been valid for about 35 years), anyway, made a booking, paid, to get to the airport to be told can't release the car. Ok, fair enough, why did the app allow the booking to happen? Ok, now to get my money back, aah upto 30 days and less a R500 cancelation fee.
Well, that's the last of them with me.
To all other people out there, you are dealing with an unreasonable company, beware and be warned 😉

Typical corporate "cover my ****" answer, working hard on making the customer experience shocking and all the customer's fault.
Let's ask you a few questions, when was the last time you checked the date on your driver's card? When did you last read the terms & conditions page on a website?
Please get real and try not be so condescending with your PC BS response. Just pay the money back as quickly as you took it and let's move on. I am anyway and it certainly won't be with AVIS 😘.

22 Aug 2023, 21:20As an FYI to all South Africans, an expired drivers license card does not mean an expired drivers license. Your driver's license never expires, however there is a massive misconception about this including ignorance on AVIS, their staff and their company policy about this, but it's their choice. The branch manager further confirmed their ignorance by saying that a temp is allowed but company policy says a provisional is not.......
Like I said earlier, rather avoid daft and devious companies like AVIS.
