Dear Robert,

Thank you for writing to us and we apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.

We have investigated your matter and the following has been established: Avis requested your bank to reserve a temporary authorization hold against the funds of your card. Your bank will usually present this as a pending transaction that reduces the money you have available to spend. This might appear as a debit on your statement, but it is not.

No funds was initially debited from your bank account. However after the billing cycle the invoice amount of R900.13 was processed from the deposit thereafter the balance of the authorization amount was automatically released back into your available balance.

A request was sent through to the bank,  but due your account being inactive they requested that you visit a Capitec Branch for further assistance as no information can be supp**** to us, such as the date of the release.

Thank you.
The Avis Team

Capitec has repeatedly sent you correspondence advising you that the funds were NOT put on hold, but were debited to your bank acc, hence the reason you need to refund me. Please advise the way forward
