Deposit not returned

Deposit paid to Avis for rental of a vehicle as they required, after returning the vehicle they are extremely quick in charging you for anything in my case e-tolls which I understand. However trying to get your deposit back is a nightmare (I see other complaints on here about the same thing). I have followed up countless times and been told 48 hours, then another 48 hours and then finally 24 hours still nothing... The car rental service is not bad but keeping your holding deposit for over 2 weeks and counting is downright **********!
