Deposit AVIS car rental

On the 6th of November 2018 I rented a Yaris from AVIS(Budget) Margate airport. A deposit amount of R2694.11 was taken off my credit card the same time. Take note firstly that you are told that it can take up to 3 months for this deposit to be returned. Secondly this amount is not taken as a debit on your card but put into a reserve. Nowhere is this ever reflected!

I queried Avis on the 7th of February regarding this deposit amount as it was never reflected back to by credit card. Was told that they don.t have any records and I need to do a follow up with Nedbank as to when this deposit was returned.

Phoned Nedbank the same day and after speaking to the Cards department, who could not see this or that any money was in hold was then transferred to Savings and Cheque department where again they could not find this transaction or even any trace that it was released.

Also after lodging a complaint at both Avis and Nedbank. I had to send proof of the deposit aswell as credit card statements. Which I did. Received a email back from Nedbank that the amount was released by the system, which still could not be picked up and I told them once again that it was not released.

The vehicle rented was also only returned on the 7th to AVIS but they debit my credit card on the 6th with R924.32 which if you think is impossible because they would not have had the km or petrol refill on the 6th

Again from the 6th all the way to February 2019 nowhere can this refund of the deposit been seen or even a date given as to when it was paid back

I'm going around in circles with both companies without anyone really looking at what I'm showing them. I watched my credit card carefully as according to AVIS and Nedbank you can only see the deposit return on you credit available

This whole story do not make any sense as how must you proof this otherwise if it never reflects on your credit card or anywhere else

Done going around in circles here because even if AVIS took the rental amount of the deposit the amounts still do not add up
