I had the most disgusting.experience with Avis Car Rental.I had hired a vehicle on the afternoon of the 29th of November 2019 and was told that they dont have the vehicle I requested online and gave me another C group vehicle .I.was not told of any further information regarding the car except that I cannot cross the border and the normal allowance for the car kms and that I will be required to pay an e toll fees .I was then handed an envelope with the keys and was told to take my vehicle.for those of you who frequent Lanseria airport will know the parkade where they require you to fetch the car is very bad lighting.I proceeded to fetch the car . Nobody inspected the vehicle with me and.I was under the impression that maybe due to me taking the super insurance I am fully covered however when returned the vehicle on the 01 st of December I was told by an agent who received the vehicle that it looks like there is a dent on the passenger side door.I did.not notice it and I told him that it could have been there prior to me hiring.the vehicle and he said I must.just.sign to say I acknowledge it on return.Due to me taking.a flight back to Durban I just said I acknowledge it but do.not take liability of it.as nobody bothered to inspect the vehicle when I took the vehicle.Few days later I get slapped with a bill of R1897.61 without vat for this dent.I called the offices and call centre and accident dep and.was told that I dented vehicle and thats the amount.I advised the same of where is the agent who suppose to.come.and inspect vehicle with you as anyone could have opened the.door next to you.and damaged the door on the hired car but I was told that I should have asked for.someone to assist.that is pathetic..how are you suppose to inspect.a vehicle in a dark parkade with vehicles next to you.I told the agent that I tool the highest form of.insurance online.and she.said that I should have asked.the agent at lanseria on the zero liability cover.how.am I suppose to.know that as Nobody advised.on internet it says to have peace of mind take CDW COLLISION.DAMAGE WAIVER.AND I TOOK ONE HIGHER.NOBODY INFORMED ME.OF ANY OTHER INSURANCE.I HAVE EMAILED THE BRANCE AND AWAITING THE MANAGER FROM AVIS TO.CONTACT ME AS I WILL TAKE THIS FURTHER.
