Deduction without prior arrangement

I rented a car through my insurance. I checked it back in on the 8/2/2017. When I checked the car back in, the avis employee noticed a scratch on the bottom of the passanger door. I said that I didnt notice it before and I dont think it was me. He let me write a statement and said that Avis will get back to me. On saturday I got a notification from my bank that avis is trying to deduct R2700 from my account without any prior arrangement reciept or notification. If this is the accident fee it is ridiculous that Avis is charging me R3500 for a scratch that, according to me, can get buffered out. It is also unacceptable that there was never any prior communication or receipt of the deduction.
