I hired a car last July whilst in Cape Town. During that time I got a speeding fine which came through later. My credit card was debited for an amount of about R330(cant remember exact amount). I called and queried and I was told it was for a speeding ticket for the amount of R200. I assumed that R330 was the amount in total taken including admin charges. Only to receive a SMS last week saying that I owed R200 for the ticket. When I mailed Avis, the response I got was that I was charged R330 for having the fine redirected to me. Really?? , they charged me an admin fee of R300 to have a R200 ticket redirected to me. Rather than just deduct the money for the fine. Then they give me stories about AARTO and demerits. What happens if the client is a foreigner. This is absolute ****************. They need to change their foolish policies and acts. This is ludicrous. I feel ******!!!
