I recently rented a car with Avis/Budget car rental in Pretoria Downtown 70 Francis Baard Street Pretoria.The car type was a Renault kwid 1.0 DYN MT Upon returning the car the lady who received the car pointed out a minner chip on the car windscreen not even close to 5mm, I asked myself how she could have even spotted that as i even needed to get closer to the car to see what she was reffering to but i let it go because she said they will need to take the car for assessment. At a later stage in the month a debit for the amount of R3485.13 and when i enquired about this debit they informed me that it is for the windscreen replacement as the chip on the windscreen was too big to be fixed, It is very concerning to me that they would make that assessment and never consulted me on it and i also have pictures of the chip they claim was too big to fix. When i also asked them to provide me with the windscreen that was supposedly removed they told me that it was disposed of, and when i asked them to give me proof of the removal of the windscreen they still couldnt provide me with that also which led me to believe that i had been conned by this rental company and they did that because i refused to take out their expensive insurance for tyre damage and windscreen damage.
