Charged for damages noted on pre-use checklist.

I rented a car with avis for 2 days. There were some damages on the car that I noted on the pre-use inspection. To my surprise, I was informed that my account was being charged for damages, and on investigation found out that these include the damages I reported on my pre-use inspection list. I am also being charged for damages to two rims, which I find extremely strange as I was not in any accident and did not drive through any pothole. I returned to the branch when I was informed about the vehicle damages, but they had already sent the vehicle to the workshop. To date I have not seen any proof of the claimed damage.
