Car hire - BEWARE

When hiring a vehicle. Please make sure that you take or have insurance to cover accidental damage. Please take lots of photos of the damage ALL around the vehicle AND get a representative from the company to sign agreeing to the exact damage and nothing else. I had a bad experience with theft and break in to the vehicle and Avis are charging me for damage that was NOT caused and no explanation or proper breakdown of the panel beaters invoice. I am worried that this is like a ****, the panelbeaters can claim whatever they like was damaged and repaired. The customer should be consulted BEFORE work carried out. I wasn't, and to make matters worse they went ahead and deducted the amount anyway AND this was November, i still have not got a satisfactory reply from the customer service. BEWARE !!
