Beware of they tactics

Freezing money in your account and releasing it is a problem. Stay away. Dont be fooled. Those funds were supposed to be returned days ago. I even brought the car back a day early

Hi Dennis,

Thank you for contacting us, please be advised that the holding deposit gets released automatically by your bank within 3-30 days after the rental has been returning, depending on your bank.
We have sent a manual communication to your bank to release any pending amounts in your account.
Please note that when the hold is released it will not come back into your account as a credit but fall back on your available balance.

Hi Dennis,

Thank you for your patience,

Kindly note that your bank advised that your holding deposit was released and made available for you to use.

At the moment there is nothing that we are still holding in your account, please contact your bank directly (authorization department) and they will be able to confirm the said information and also advise when the amount was released.

They could not be able to confirm the said information and also could not advise when the amount was released. On the 2nd of Feb, I asked the AVIS representative how long the freeze will be in place... I was told 24 hours. Spoke to the bank today, and gave the Auth codes, etc that I got from you. They were unable to help. They don't see anything.

11 Days later, nothing

Please people be careful. DO NOT let AVIS freeze funds in your account. It's an absolute nightmare.

Hi Dennis,

Thank you for your feedback,

Please note that if the amount was still on hold, the hold would have been released within 24hrs after we had sent a manual communication to release the confirmed amount, in this case, your bank confirmed that they had already released the hold deposit.

As advised, please contact your bank, the authorization department will be able to assist, they will advise that the amount that was held in your account was released, and they will then advise when the amount was released, this is the information only your bank can confirm, we can only advise of the feedback received from your bank.

Please be advised that when your bank releases the hold, it will not come back into your account as a credit so you won't see this reflected in your statement, the hold amount will be made available for you to use in your available balance,
