Beware of Avis

I rented a vehicle from Avis for 2 days. They could not find the keys upon collection, so they assigned another vehicle off the lot which was dirty upon receipt. This was noted on the Avis questionnaire. Aside from the other problems with the vehicle, Avis said everything was ok when the vehicle was returned in the same state, but then they proceeded to add a R50 Valet charge onto my final invoice. Disgusting that they rent out vehicles in a filthy state, and then have the audacity (or perhaps dishonesty) to charge me for cleaning their vehicle supp**** dirty, let alone charging a ridiculous fee of R520 for a valet!! A proper vehicle clean (interior and exterior plus engine steam clean) costs R160 in Pretoria, so this is a complete Avis ****. I have never been charged for even a car-wash at any other rental company in my entire lifetime. Other companies have always supp**** clean vehicles, and accepted returns with normal road-usage dirt without charging. I am highly annoyed and disgusted with Avis, who apparently may have alternate ways to dishonestly inflate their income.
