Being courteous to Avis only for it to backfire
I rented a vehicle through Budget\Avis East London. During the inspection, it was not identified that the backboard\parcel tray was damaged. I only saw this when unpacking my luggage about 30 minutes later. I immediately called Avis\Budget East London and reported it. The lady I spoke to advised me that she made a note of it. Upon returning the vehicle I also advise the gentleman of the damage and that it was not seen upon inspection and that I did report it. About 2 weeks later, I have not received my deposit, but get a messaged saying that I am liable for the damages. This is completely unacceptable by any standards. I was kind enough to report this, yet I am the one who is now held responsible. What a ripoff and demonstration of the worst kind of customer service I have ever received. E ********** 25
