Be warned - Avis Budget website double deductions on credit card.

I made a rental reservation with Avis Budget at OR Thambo Airport in JHB. During the reservation their website became unresponsive as I made my online payment. The site restarted and no confirmation email was received. I proceeded to reserve the exact same vehicle, exact same time slot and exact same personal details. I made payment. The next day I noted that they had taken both reservations as separate and deducted both full payments. Upon collecting the car, I noted this issue to the attendant who was very helpful and promised to correct the issue. I have now received only a partial refund, and they are not responding. Potential rental clients need to be very aware of this problem on the Avis Budget websites as duplicate error payments made by them, are not refunded and they are not responding to enquiries. Making a partial refund, of only 40%, and taking a 60% cancelation fee for their site error, after it is clear that it is the exact same rental, is truly absurd and the public should be made aware of this practice! Possibly better to look at other rental companies to prevent this and ensure that you do not end up paying double without any recourse! Rental Reference agreement ********** 04
