Bad service, unhelpful

Rented a vehicle in Dec 2024. In April 2025 Avis tried to push a trn for a speeding fine to my credit card, which incidentally expired inFeb2025. No communication from Avis. The back rejects the trn because the card no# was invalid, but charges me. AVIS stubbornly push this trn through every single day, without reaching out to me, the Bank chges a fee every day the trn comes through... Avis refuse to refund the fee, saying I should have told them in February when my card expired.DUH, how should I have known that they would push a transaction through in April...I have been trying to get their attention to fix this since mid May.

Dear Grizelda,

Thank you for your feedback, and please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this situation may have caused.

Kindly note that we only apply the fine administration fee once we’ve received the fine from the traffic department. At that point, we attempt to charge the card that was provided at the start of your rental. If the card has since expired, we ask that customers get in touch with us to provide updated payment details.

As the fine remains the renter’s responsibility, our system will continue attempting to process the payment until it succeeds. We’ve now sent your updated card details to our traffic department so they can proceed with debiting the outstanding amount.

Unfortunately, we are unable to reverse any charges already incurred during previous failed attempts to process the payment.

We appreciate your understanding.

Thank you.

Avis Team.
