Bad Service - Avis Menlyn

I rented a vehice from Avis rescently, which requires me to extend the lease every few days due to my own car being repaired and not ready.

I received a call on Saturday morning when I wasn't able to take the call, I had my hands full with and infant, I repeatedly stated to the persistent agent that I couldn't attend to his query now and asked if he could call back later, saying I'm currently busy. Iasked if he could call back later or even the following day. He (Wynand) was quite rude and persistent. He eventually agreed to call back later in the day. I said he can reserve the additional amount and made provision for it on the card. He never did call or reserve the amount. I subsequently got a call from Tommy at the risk department who was told that I wasn't willing to pay the reserve or return the car, he also was quote rude in his approach, I asked him not to address me in that way, he justified being rude based on that I was witholding funds and rental vehicle. I asked to speak to his superior a few times, he never obliged. Eventually he checked for the reserve on the card and there was no issue. he then stated that the agent (Zimbule) from Avis had escalated due to me not being forthcoming I guess, and he said they are required to fulfill a number of checks before submitting the query which they clearly didn't do. He said they told him that securing the hold on the card failed, which wasn't the case, Tommy had no issues with securing the hold amount.

As a result of poor administration, being rude, and resulting in me having a negative review with the risk departmet unneccessarily, I have to say that that it was a bad service experience.

It's really not a pleasant experience to be escalated unduly, to have to endure the bad attitudes as a result of administration that wasn't done effectively.

I can only assume that my not being readily available to the agent at the time the called led to their indignance, despite a legitimate request to engage at another time in the near future.
