Avoid Avis - Unauthorised charges

<p>My insurance company arranged a courtesy vehicle with Avis Car Hire. I returned the vehicle after a couple of days and the inspector after inpecting the vehicle said everything was fine and I could leave. I informed the inspector and the gentleman who assisted me with the rental agreement, that I had to pump the right front tyre twice during the period. The Avis assistant told me that any damage to the tyre would be covered by the Windscreen and Tyre insurance that I took out when I signed the Rental Agreement. However, a couple of days later, Avis deducted more the R4000 from my credit card and despite my call to their call centre and personally going to their office to find out what these charges are for, they have to date not rep**** or informed me what the charges were for. I am going to their office again tomorrow and if they do not reverse the unauthorised charges, I am going to report them to the Ombudsman. Please think twice before renting a car from them. From the other reviews on Hellopeter, it is clear that customer complaints are not taken seriously.</p>
