AVIS'S BAD SERVICE
On the 19th October I rented an Avis vehicle at Cape Town International Airport with my voyager miles. Upon receiving the vehicle they gave me a document noting the damages reported on the vehicle, Kia Picanto. I signed and they reserved an amount of R2400 for the deposit. Getting to the vehicle there was not attendee to go over the vehicle with me to check if all was in order. Upon returning the vehicle on Sunday 21 October I filled the vehicle up with petrol as requested by AVIS. Dropping the vehicle off there was suddenly 3 attendees checking the vehicle and noting the damages, especially on the left front wheel and wheelcap. I showed him the document AVIS gave me upon receiving the vehicle noting the damages and again signed, and noted the "damages before collecting the vehicle" on his form. He also noted the filled up petrol in the car. UPon requesting when i will get my deposit back they noted 7 days. On the 24th October i received an SMS to state that E ********** 42 has been billed R298.91 for damages. Upon my email query with Charney Reiners on the 24th OCtober, stating again that it would take 7 days, i was informed that they will investigate this matter. On the 30th October i send an email again, to Nawaal Hoosain, she came back to me on the 30th and rep**** that they investigated and i am liable for the damage?
I then requested that they send me the documentation that was handed to me upon receiving the vehicle noting the damage. To date no documentation.
I also saw R852.91 that went off my account. Upon quering this with Regan Williams also on the 30th (still no reversal of my deposit) he told me that this amount was for damages as well as petrol? I informed him that i filled up the vehicle, it was noted by the AVIS arrival attendees and can send him proof of this petrol purchase. I am expecting a full reversal of my deposit asap, if not they must at least provide me with the document showing where i signed upon collecting with it clearly noting the damages reported on the vehicle as well as the document signed upon dropping off noting the full tank and again noting the damages reported on the vehicle before i picked it up.
I am extremely dissapointed with AVIS and with this modus operandi.
