Avis verbal abuse
I am a client of avis for a long time. My issue started last week when I went to collect my hired car and was told I need to pay R4500 deposit. It was confirmed beforehand that my deposit was R1400 as per usual.
I did not take the vehicle as I was suspicious that the staff may been acting insincerely.
When I did go into the durban branch on ke masinga Road, I was given a Mercedes-Benz. I didn't know which class of car I was going to get so I assumed it to be correct. I did get an audi in 2015 via insurance so I thought nothing of it.
About an hour later later while I was in a business meeting, I was called by a panic striken staff member who made me have to excuse myself from a lunch meeting. I told her I am busy and asked to be called back in 10 min. She refused and she started to raise her voice at me. She made a mistake and treated me like I intentionally stole their car.
I then went to the car while she arrogantly waited on the phone. I gave her my booking number and she goes onto say "oh you do have a booking with us". Implying she believed im some kind of *****.
Someone else with the same surname as me booked the Mercedes-Benz. She checked me in without looking at my booking number which I Had given to her.
They sent over a new car without asking if I am happy with what they sending. I have a Toyota quest now and I'm not happy with it.
I want an apology from her and I want this car changed for something else. I have to use this car for 30 days so I want something that I'm comfortable with.
The staff treated me like a ******** and raised their voice at me because of their sheer incompetence. Avis used to be the friendliest and easiest car rental agency.
