I cannot get any support from Avis' official support email with 17 working days passed. This is my last attempt to get an official resolution before I instruct my credit card company to forcibly restore the funds after I present clear evidence that I have been incorrectly invoiced and charged.
In the invoice, the return day and time is incorrect stating that I returned the vehicle on 8 December 2024 at 17:00 when in actual fact I returned the vehicle on 4 December 2024 at 11:00. I've been billed for those additional 4 days and for fuel. However, I did return the car on a full tank on the 4th.
I also did not receive the invoice 48h after drop-off and only received this invoice on 10 December 2024.
To support my case, I had made no formal or informal requests to extend my usage of the vehicle after the agreed return period as I had a flight out of Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) immediately after the vehicle drop off on 4 December 2024. And further I left South Africa on 5 December 2024 all which I have evidence for. It would be impossible for me to return the car at the Port Elizabeth Avis Airport Branch on the 8th December as I was back in my home country on the 6 December 2024. I have evidence to support all of this.
This incorrect billing has seen R6000 charged to my credit card and all official support channels to get this resolved have not responded. Given the sum of this money and the clear evidence for recourse, I would advise Avis to urgently look into this matter as I will not have R6000 ****** out of my account without significant recourse. I am only after resolving this incorrect billing, however, if I cannot get the support I need, I will resort pushing for a full refund that will be R30,000+ for the rental period.
