On 24/02/2015 there was a cloud burst in Kby.Streets were extremely flooded in a short time.I rented an Avis vehicle from 20/02/2015.On 24/02/2015,on my way home from work at about 5pm when the vehicle stalled in the middle of the street in the water.I phoned the call centre and they said they will arrange tow in.The tow in services only arrived at 21:30 that evening.I stood alone from 5pm to 21:30.I phoned the Kimberley office at about 19:45 & asked if it would be possible to issue another vehicle as I have to get to work the next day.My husband & I went to fetch a vehicle at the airport & the agent on duty told me not to stress about anything as its a natural disaster & I would not be liable...On 20/03/2015 Avis deducted approx R2500 from my credit card (used to pay deposit) without even contacting me and making arrangements. After trying to find out what this was for,(first contact on 20/03/2015 & everyday after that) they promised that the supervisor would phone be back...Needless to say,I had to phone him again yesterday to get an answer...The money deducted was for damages to the vehicle...I completely understand the liability if I was at fault, but this was a natural disaster!
